Zurich to Tel Aviv

 9/23/2023

We arrived in Zurich from Chicago so early (6 am) that shops and vendors did not have their doors open.  It was somewhat a ghost town feeling to the airport terminal.  But soon the coffee shops were abuzz.  We had a six-hour layover there.  We found good coffee and bakery treats to eat at "Pret". We even came back there for lunch too.

At noon we left for Tel Aviv, Israel.  It would be a six-hour flight to our next stop.  I had a window seat and could see us flying over the Greek Islands on the way.  A passenger on the flight had a medical emergency.  The flight attendants were in motion to help.  A call went out over the speaker for any doctor on the flight.  Soon the man was being carried to the back of the plane to be able to work on his revival.  They were successful!  And as the man was assisted back to his seat the whole plane gave a round of applause.  When we arrived in Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion airport, there was an ambulance waiting to take this passenger to the hospital.

We landed in Israel about sunset.  A guide from Proximo Travel met us and showed us how to get a Israeli Visa at an automated machine that used our passport to generate a photo id visa that was wallet size.  Then he escorted us through customs and security.  An hour and a half later we were checking in at the Courtyard Hotel in Jerusalem.  There we had a buffet supper about 8 pm.

This is the wallet size photo id Israeli Visa.
